Black Dog

Black Dog, Oil 6"x6". I did two dogs for a person and the second one was chosen, this is the "other"one. I funked this up a bit by adding a green line around part of him and I changed the background to make him pop a bit. Anyone want a "black dog"?

More Dogs and Landscapes

Black dog, Oil 11x14. This is my problem - painting a black dog on black canvas. The dog is from a picture of a facebook friend's dog. I did her dog Taz awhile ago and she has another dog and takes really good pictures. I am always looking for good pictures. This had its problems, but was fun to paint and made me work.

Landscape off of Hwy 101, Oil 11x14. This is from my head, once again it is what I see when going down hwy 101, the farmland, not quite sure what they are planting.

Cows and the Coast, Oil 8x8. This is from a smaller painting without the cows, it is what I see when driving down hwy 1 along the coast.

Hwy 101 On the Way to San Lusio Obispo. Oil 11" x 14" This is from a photo I took from my cell phone on my drive down highway 101 to San Lusio Obisop, where my son is going to school. The shapes and colors of the landscape, not knowing what is really going on in those hills. SOLD

The Rows off the Highway, Oil 11"x 14". This is from my head, the farms and rows you see when you are driving, Very loose and abstract.

Hwy 1 Looking at Monterey, Oil 11" x 14"

The Lunch Dog, Oil 12" x 9" This is from a photo I took of a dog I happened to see when having lunch with my family in San Lusio Obispo. The dog came over to our table and just hung out...I couldn't help taking a photo, glad to have my cell phone. What a great dog...oh ... they are all great dogs.

Norman

Norman, Oil 8"x 8" After painting two other dogs for an owner and having them a little tighter then I like and not so goofy. I got this photo from something posted on facebook ... no commission. I love it, I call him Norman cause he looks like a Norman....could be anything. This painting was fun, it is loose, off center, and has a crazy background, all of which makes this a more lively painting. I can't seem to do this with every dog I paint, but when it happens I just love it.

Duke

SOLD
Duke, oil 8x10. Boy what a good looking dog. After doing 50 small landscapes I had a hard time jumping back into painting bigger and other subjects, that why I painted the three little panels prior to this, and it help in doing this one. Tried to stay loose with bold brush strokes.
